Many people corelate 1 Corinthians 3:16 with how we are to take care of the outwardness of our bodies, but it extends beyond the outward and translates to the inner. We have been made stewards over these temples in which the Spirit of God dwells. That means we are to continually offer ourselves as sacrificial offerings unto God. Seek the Holy Spirit and the Word of God to wash us continually. King David penned in Psalm 51 "create in me a clean heart and renew a right spirit within me. Wash me with hyssop and I shall be white as snow. As the children of Israel were commanded to set up and tear down the tabernacle and offer animals on the burnt altar and the priest would wash their hands and feet in the bronze lavar, we being redeemed by the blood of the Lamb and reconciled to the Father by the blood of Christ must also offer ourselves as sacrifices and keep our hands and feet clean.
