The book of Daniel is a book of historical events, apocalypses, and prophecies, yet it is also a book of example and teaching.  Teaching what you might ask?  How to live a life of humility, faith, commitment, integrity, conviction in the face of adversity, threats of death and captivity.  Daniel from a young age even into his 80's lived a life devoted to the God of his fathers.  He remained faithful and steadfast, filled with humility, wisdom, conviction and integrity and prayer.  Even in the face of death, he remained devoted to the statutes of God.  His devotion caused pagan kings to favor him placing him (a slave) in high authority positions and his integrity, knowledge, wisdom, interpretation of dreams and willingness to be used of God caused pagan God's to acknowledge and worship his God.  The demonstration of God in his life caused the king to tell Daniel I know your God will deliver you.  What are people telling us about our God, based on how we live, move, respond and speak?  Daniel was the same in private and in public.  Can we say the same?
