You Gotta Laugh

Life has a way of piling things on all at once.

Trials.
Tribulations.
Persecution.
Pain.
Loss.
Frustration.
Insecurity.

Sometimes it feels like you’re holding your breath just trying to make it through the day. And in the middle of it — whatever that “it” is for you — God has given us an unexpected gift.

Laughter.

Yes, laughter.

It may seem out of place when bills are due, relationships are strained, prayers feel delayed, and emotions are heavy. But sometimes right in the middle of it, you gotta laugh. Not because the situation is funny — but because your faith is bigger than the situation.

Laughter Is Medicine

The Word declares in Proverbs 17:22:

“A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.”

God designed laughter to be therapeutic. It is spiritual medicine. It loosens the tight grip of stress. It softens the hard edges of grief. It reminds your soul that this moment is not the end of your story.

So go ahead — take a big swig of laughter and soothe your spirit. It works better than NyQuil, DayQuil, or anything you can find on the pharmacy shelf. Medicine may treat the body, but laughter ministers to the heart.

And when the heart is strengthened, the whole person begins to shift.

Holy Laughter in Hard Seasons

Laughter does not mean denial. It does not mean you are ignoring the pain. It means you are refusing to let pain define you.

Sometimes laughter is an act of defiance against despair.

Sometimes it is a declaration:
“This will not break me.”
“This will not steal my joy.”
“This will not silence my praise.”

The enemy wants you tense, heavy, and dry in your spirit. But God gives you something light and life-giving. A merry heart keeps your bones from drying out. It keeps hope alive.

It’s a Gift from Above

Laughter is a sweet gift from heaven. It mends what feels torn. It heals what feels bruised. It relaxes the strained fibers of your heart. It brings oxygen to a suffocating season.

And sometimes it shifts the entire atmosphere around you.

Have you ever noticed how one genuine laugh can change a room? It breaks tension. It eases awkwardness. It reminds everyone present that joy still exists.

That’s not accidental — that’s divine design.

So Laugh

Not because everything is perfect.

Not because the storm has stopped.

Not because you aren’t believing for breakthrough.

Laugh because God is still sovereign.
Laugh because He is still faithful.
Laugh because He is still writing your story.

Laugh because the trial doesn’t get the last word — God does.

In the middle of it, whatever “it” is for you today…

You gotta laugh.

It’s good for you. And it’s from Him.
