The prophet Isaiah records the work of our Lord and Saviour on the cross, for He was wounded for our transgressions, bruised for our iniquities, and in order for us to have peace with God He was chastised and by each stripe we are healed. Hundreds of years later in Roman all witnessed him scourged and ripped to shreds publicly for our transgressions and bruised for our iniquities with every stripe bringing humanity healing. The Romans were experts in torture and crucifixion. Many did not live through the beating, but LOVE caused Christ to live through it all with enough energy and breath to still teach 7 last teachings of forgiveness, repentance, replacement, commitment, completion, fellowship.
